Chef Caldon Strimling

Born and raised in Johannesburg, Chef Caldon Strimling has a passion for working with Fresh and Health-conscious ingredients that are heartwarming and soulful.

His food is inspired by the Mediterranean, Asian and South African Homestyle cuisine - from Fine Dining to a creative take on Street Food.

He has worked as a chef at some of South Africa’s best restaurants such as Aurelias @ Emperors Palace, Punchinello’s @ the Pivot Hotel, Urbanology in JHB CBD. Also worked in the Middle East (City of Jordan).

Chef Regev Afek

Regev Afek is an Israeli-born international executive chef and food consultant based in the Johannesburg area of South Africa. Through his company, Chef Afek Gourmet Productions, he offers a range of culinary services, including private catering, corporate consulting, and customized meal preparation. 

Background and experience

  • Extensive career: With over 25 years of experience, Afek has worked in roles from managing large kitchens to serving as a private chef for high-net-worth individuals.

  • Israeli roots: His passion for food began as a child, and he attended chef school at 16 in Israel, where he worked for many years in top hotels and kibbutzim before moving to South Africa.

Famous for his iconic “Warren Burger”, a juicy, flavor-packed legend in the community, Warren’s menu doesn’t stop there. From slow-smoked brisket and delicious ribs to chargrilled chicken and fire-kissed lamb chops, every dish is a celebration of taste, texture, and tradition.

Cooking and community run in his blood. The Klass family’s love for meat and the magic of braaing have become a way of life, one sizzling grill at a time. Whether it’s weddings, festivals, family gatherings, or backyard feasts, Warren brings the fire, flavor, and fun to every event.
